A mash-up of the photography website Flickr, where amateur photographers can display their pictures at an on-line gallery for anyone to view and comment on, and SoundCloud, where users can post their own songs for other users to listen to. You can hear songs from users in New York, London, Buenos Aires, Montreal and even Copenhagen, and filter the tracks in terms of popularity, too. Don’t think I have posted anything from this guy before. He’s been a favourite of mine for some time now. Unfortunately his work has moved in a direction I’m not that in to, so I’m going to post some of his old work here instead. You should check Antony Micallef out. David Shrigley is know for his irony in drawings and sculptures. This is his Brass Tooth sculpture, which I kinda like. It is sold in edition of 80 and each edition comes with a unique, hand drawing on the box lid. Size is 14 h x 7.65 w x 6.35 d. I already have his salt and pepper shakers, beneath, so maybe this one should join them. Available at CEREALART
Some good friends of mine inspired me to make a post of an old hero of mine. Let me present Dr. Lakra, a mexican tattoo artist who, in his spare time, likes to tattoo cowgirls, bikini models, masked Mexican wrestlers and of course small innocent dolls. He displays his work using an interesting technique: he rips out pages from 50’s Mexican magazines, takes a Bic, and begins drawing on the models’ skin. Check out the rest after the jump.

Talented photographer Ryan Mcginley captured the U.S Olympic Team just a week before leaving for the Winter Games in Vancouver (starting this weekend 12th of February) I know if the Danish Olympic Team would get their pictures taken, it would be a whole lot more ordinary. Myoung Ho Lee, a young artist from South Korea, has produced an elaborate series of photographs that I find amazing. Simple in concept, complex in execution, he makes us look at a tree in its natural surroundings, but separates the tree artificially from nature by presenting it on an immense white ground, as one would see a painting or photograph on a billboard.
Good friend Ulrik send me this track the other day, didn’t know he had anything in the pipeline – this is good stuff. Daniel Snaith’s Caribou has a new album scheduled for release April 20th. “Odessa” is the first song off of the album and the only song being leaked pre-release.
