If you ever go to Paris

I had the pleasure of spending this weekend with my girlfriend and some friends in Paris and on Saturday we had dinner reservations on Derriére.

A hyped up restaurant that seems like a giant apartment. The downstairs for example has a ping pong table that guests can play on between courses, an office where you struggle to eat between stacks of paper, a living room perfect for a TV dinner and so on. You really get the feeling of being in someone’s home and it gets even cosier when you go upstairs. Here you can be seated in the bedroom or in the dressing room. We got the seated in the bedroom, so 3 of us had to sit in the bed with a nicely done mirror ceiling above us.

But that’s not all. Because the French has a non smoking policy in public areas the Derriére has created a secret space for the smokers in the restaurant. You are told that if you want to smoke, go through the closet (above). Through the closet a big cosy secret smoking area would be found as you can see n the following pictures.

As the evening progressed it seemed more and more like a big house party and every single room had it’s own stereo so the guests in the room could decide how loud they wanted to party – our party ended with jumping in the bed and loud music. Just to wrap it up, the food is good, the price is reasonable, the atmosphere is superb and you should definitely go if you’re looking for something extraordinary in Paris. More pictures after the jump.

Even though it’s old it’s still worth posting. No pun intended. Copyflex’s poster has the same message as the earlier posted guillotine from an Italian art group.

This is what they have to say about it. “Sokkomb is a new low-cost product designed specifically for all those citizens who are so interested in Do-It-Yourself Justice. Are you full of energy? Have you lots of things to do and too little time to do them? Are you increasingly annoyed by all those criminals, immigrants and petty people who should just be got rid of? By assembling Sokkomb in the comfort of your own living room, you can relax safe in the knowledge that the punishment will fit the crime. So you can finally be your own boss in your own house. Sokkomb is made from the best solid pine and comes equipped with a sturdy blade in stainless steel. It is light and versatile and is guaranteed effective for up to 100 executions a day”. So what are you waiting for, get started with the justice.

Martin Margiela once again manages to draw some attention with this new paint sneaker. The low top German army inspired sneaker comes in beige with white paint poured over it. Love the fact that you don’t need lacing in his sneaks.
